Correct. I own the Ida Signature Model and the Hipshot works well. No issues.over the last 18 months.
Sandberg No.5 - A lovely Creme TT4 Masterpiece. Oh, i'm in love.
Another cool Sandberg, looks great in a beat up kind a way.... which is the way I like them. So do you have a number 1 out of the 5?

. A passive California II TT4 Deluxe apparently.
The scratchplate has glued on screw heads and is removable ( I need to decide on the method of attachment). It's a shame that it obscures one of the Sandberg dots but as it isn't permanent it's not the end of the world.

Is that the one you reordered? Shame it covers the Sandberg dot but i guess that is a small compromise.
Yes Lee, it arrived this morning. I knew that it would partially cover the dot from my Photoshopping sessions
but if it bothers me too much I may get the scratchplate modified slightly. I don't feel confident enough to do it myself and not ruin it.

Yeah, someone with sanding skills could round that off and chamfer the edge quite easily. Like you, I wouldn't feel confident.
Looks really good though. Loving the quilted maple top.
My 7-month-old TSBS is on the Bass Direct website. Someone lucky punter will get a cracker if they buy that.

On another note, I was going to sell a couple of mine but some stupid lowball offers on eBay made me re-think and I have kept them. My 2 favourites in order are the Roquefort Blues Brothers, TT4 first and then VM4. Both are strung with NYXL roundwounds so I thought I’d try different strings on the others. So for Father’s Day my eldest got me a set of Ti’s and and I put them on the VS4.... wow, what a difference. They sound great out of the pack and I’m hoping they only get better, but they feel so smooth and slinky I haven’t been able to put it down! I had to take a little tension out of the neck and adjust the string height a little but it plays even better than before. Next up for a change is the Ken Taylor, not sure what to try yet but I may try half rounds or La Bella tow tension flats? Anyway, just glad I didn’t sell the VS4.... I was only moving it and the KT along because of lack of use due to the project blues band not doing anything. I guess I’ll have to find another band now.

I’m liking the NYXL roundwounds on mine. I am finding they last longer than say GHS Boomers and some DR’s I have used. I have recently tried Ernie Ballsack Slinky’s but again wasn’t blown away. I do find the NYXL’s a safe bet and consistent quality too.
Saying all that, strings are a very personal thing. Given the cost of strings and having 5 basses, my priority is longevity too. I’ve had GHS’s that are flat as farts after a week. Lol.
@DJ ‘65 on my Jon Snow White TT bass with The Hauessels I just bought the LaBella 1954 originals flatwounds - it’s absolutely bloody amazing.
Just reigns in the hotter pick ups a bit compared to my DK, and gives a real thump neck solo’d and plays really nicely with my new Tech21 DP3X pedal.
I fully recommend the Labellas the other strings I use are DR DDTs which are quality and they compare nicely

The black hardware is very nice too. Mine should be here this month I’m told. It too will have black hardware. A first for me!
Hello, I have a question regarding sandberg basses, as I'm considering buying one. Do the models that don't have dots on the fretboard have side dots? I can't find any picture that shows if they do.
Nice, thank you for the replies and the pic. Thats a bit of a game changer for me, as i thought i would have to pay extra 200 euros for them. I'm undecided between a California TT4 and a fender classic 60s jazz, they cost around the same. Any advice?
