Hey Cuzzie, sorry to point this out but the locking screw (bottom right) appears to be missing from your saddle.

That's the older bridge. The saddle spacing screw is nearly horizontal on those but appears to be there. The intonation screw is quite hard to get to as it's under the string almost (partially obscured by Cuzzies green arrow head).

@Juan Lauda thanks for your concern buddy, it’s much appreciated, but the screw is there as @kasbrey pointed out and yes the screw is obscured by the green arrow courtesy of my sausage fingers drawing on a iPhone!

Ah, I see the hidden one now! The bottom right screw is also angled differently to the newer saddles, which is why I thought the screw had fallen out. Thanks Cuzzie and kasbrey.

Massive thank again, especially to Kasbrey for the manual. Have now spent about one hour getting the bass just so. I'm blown away by the infinite adjustments available on those bridge saddles. The string spacing facility is BRILLIANT. I've set the neck to almost flat and crazy low action mmmmm, nice....

Anyway the outcome is one hell of a perfect set up, for my taste, and looking forward to getting in the band next week.

I think I will have my guitar tech just slightly roll off the fingerboard edge as its a touch square edged for me, but apart from that it's now as good a neck as I've ever played.

Great bass

Not that you will need it on your current set up, but a tip you can do if you are struggling with being unable to get the bridge far enough back to intonate properly (thick strings, Drop tuning etc.) is to take the saddle out and flip it the other way around, it just alters the break angle slightly to allow it

Hi guys, snooping in here to see if I want to become a member. Looking for 5 string bass with 34" scale, sounds like (or better ) than my Lakland 44-02, is relatively light (< 10 lbs), String spacing ~ 18mm, good Marcus Slap sound, but also able to do a good rock, country and jazzy (Jaco) sound. 24 frets preferred. Thinking of California TM

You won’t go far wrong with that, bassist with ToTo uses a TM, Kylie Minogue’s current touring bassist uses a TM, mate of mine in a Ska-rock band uses a TM

I have a California I vm4 equipped with Duncan QP as P pickup and unknown Duncan humbucker, I use about 80% of the P pickup and humbucker 20%. I really love the bass but what are people's favourite p pickup in it?

Hey Cuzzie, sorry to point this out but the locking screw (bottom right) appears to be missing from your saddle. I had to replace a saddle recently for the same issue: according to Sandberg this is usually because the thread has been stripped. They will replace the saddle for you.

No, the old bridges have the screw pointing forward, so it is the way it should be.

The time quote I got was 9-10 months, so I'm hoping to see it by end of next summer. Fingers crossed.
