Now I can see what the fuss is all about, this thing plays and sounds amazing!

That's very beautiful. I was just wondering does anybody know where that dual coil pickup is in relation to the music man pickup location? Same spot? Closer to the bridge?

I have the opposite question, the neck J pickup, where is it in relation to a Jazz bass neck pickup? What is the distance from the neck pocket to the J pickup itself? The distance between the humbucker and the J pickup?

M pick up is not in the Ray position, nor does it sound like a Ray solo’d as the ore amp is different - I think it’s slightly closer to the neck.

J pick up in my TT and Marlowe DK is 74mm neck to edge

Love it! Where did you get that case for it? Mine came with the gig bag but I am looking to get a hard case for it.

Tell us more! Pau ferro fretboard? It matches the body well.

I bought this off the rack at Chicago Music Exchange, so I didn't have a part in choosing the materials/build. It's a 35" scale, ebony fretboard, the rest is pretty much stock for the Forty-Eight. But yeah, it matches the body color really nicely.

Love it! Where did you get that case for it? Mine came with the gig bag but I am looking to get a hard case for it.

The case came with it when I bought it. It's a waterproof SKB I-Series. I have a California VM on order and also requested it come with the same type of hard case, but I think that's something my local shop takes care of, not Sandberg. I don't know who had it custom fitted to the Forty-Eight body style.

The distance from the end of fingerboard to the J pickup itself is 70mm and between the humbucker and the J pickup 55mm. Between the humbucker and the enge of the bridge is 30mm.

Which series of Sandberg basses, if any has a “smaller” size body. Meaning smaller than Fender Jazz. I really like the size of my Fender Dimension and Musicman Caprice. Secondly, is the Ken Taylor Basic body size similar to a jazz bass? Thanks!

The California ll V series have a smaller body. The T series is slightly smaller too. The Basic series, as I recall, have a fuller sized body.

My TM4 was built in 2014 and has serial number 23xxx. So yours will certainly be pre-2014.

Email Sandberg and ask them, they're very helpful.

Schaller bridge on yours is interesting.

Dear friends. I'd never asked to belong to the club before but i do it now. I've been a user of an early Thinline fretless for some time. Now I'm about to pull the trigger for one more bass. My question is if it is worth to go for a top end relic one or one with a standard finish. Does the thermo treatment makes a difference? The harcore ones look terrific but they cost twice as much in some cases. What do you recommend? The pup config will most probably be tt (maybe pasive) or tm. Thanks in advance.

I've been very pleased with my lightweight (3.3kg) passive TT4 Deluxe. It's my favourite of my 5 Sandbergs and has a wonderfully balanced tone.
