Club Sandberg ?

Had my basic 5 for a few months now.... loving the feel of it, a real quality build... it's a keeper!
Pickup very 'hi-fi' sounding compared to my 'Ray... makes for some tonal variation but I reckon I may change it for something with more guts one day...

ooohhh that green is sweet, if they did that in gloss i'd have been tempted with my PM5.

when you mentioned the tone, i think that its the pre amp you are not sure on, the glokenklang pre has a very clean sound with little colouration. if you were to swap it out for a SD basslines MM pre it would give a more familiar tone, if thats what you are after.

I think the greenburst is lush & the clear scratchplate shows the wood grain off a treat.
cool.... yeah, thanks for that about the pre... that may be the way to go eventually....

Anyone knows how to get a replacement pickguard for a California JM?

This is my situation, I have the opportunity to get one of this, but in candy red with a whte pickguard, not my favorite color. But maybe throwing a black or tortoise pickguard would solve this.

I don't know if this is possible to buy a sandberg replacement PG, but Jeannie Pickguards does custom pickguards, so they should be able to do what you want

I' d like to introduce to you my new "baby": it's a California JJ 4 strings, with alnico (delano) pick ups. I'm the third owner but it's like new!
Electronic is passive/active 3 band by Glockenklang. Switch is push/pull on the master volume, and the treble pot works as passive tone (in passive mode obviously).

Finish is SO gorgeous, and it's very smooth to play (compared to my ex Fender Geddy Lee), and the tone it's just...wow :D
I was happy with my Fender but this bass was a super bargain, and much much better than the Geddy Lee.

I'm so proud of my new bass! :)

I can only recommend that fretless Booster to you my friend. It sounds beautiful and plays so easy! I can still remember so well the first time I tried one (years ago).
If you can and really like it get it, I bet you will never regret it.

Yes basically you can! Just sometimes are very busy and don't answer for long. Other options are to call or contact a shop close to you which sells sandberg basses, they can get for you the one you want.
If you are located in europe you may try Musik-Schmidt, they have a very good contact with Sandberg, I got some spare parts of them with ease.

Hey all,

I've been an un-numbered member of Club Sandberg for about a year and a half and I've positively loved my Ken Taylor Basic 5. But after playing a friend's Quantum 5, I realized that the Modulus sound was just closer to what I'm trying to do with my current band and so I'm afraid I'm going to be a formerly un-numbered member of Club Sandberg pretty soon.

This is a slightly odd post to write, but as fans of Sandberg basses I assume some of you have sold them in the past. I've had mine posted for over a week and its generated very little interest so far. I think $1100 is a fair price, but the market may be telling me otherwise. I'd love to get some opinions from this group--please be as honest as possible. And I also thought you might know some details about my bass that I don't (I'm the second owner).

I appreciate all your help! And I hope it's not offensive or against TB rules to ask this type of question in this thread. If so, just let me know and I'll take it down.
