My Meatsmoke has arrived. I've run a rehearsal and small gig with already and it's fantastic. It has huge grind but also cleans up really well with the gain dialed back. It's what I would call a 100% legit tube sound.
I'm waiting on an Aggie TH500 as a new head for my rig. In the interim I have just used a GK 2x10 combo with me effects loop. If the Meatsmoke sounds even better through a loop, I can't lose.
My other dirt pedals are interesting with it. All work well but the tubey sound of the Zvex Basstortion is now pretty redundant next to the MS Boost. The Dr Scientist Elements blends really well at high gain. But the pick of them, as somebody mentioned earlier is the Fuzzrocious OSD. That pedal seems to love the Meatsmoke. You can't get anything less than awesome out of that pedal combo.
Interested to hear what other dirt pedals you guys are using with the MS.

I have a Swell B-Pro and a modified turbo rat and I just ordered my Vintage Microtubes should be here next week they all sound good through the Meatsmoke. I keep my Meatsmoke clean and I'm running it through my effects loop sounds incredible.
+1 to Fuzzrocious OSD through the MSpre. Oh Meh GAWD!!!! Pure audible orgasmic magic.

What wah do you use? I've always experienced such crazy low end loss with wah pedals that I don't bother any more.

Well I just woke to seeing my Meatsmoke have whiffs of smoke coming out of it? man I'm too pissed this is going to be my second time sending it back I took one side panel off and used a flashlight I don't see burnt boards or components?
Wilson Freaker Wah. It has 5 settings, I believe I've been using the Vintage Mode.

I also had more than one problem with mine. The first time it would kind of get a lot lower when I kicked the boost on. This happened at a show. And then again a few days later at practice. Ben took care of the shipping and got it back to me quickly. About three months later something similar happened. I had a weekend of shows coming up so I had a friend look at it. He said it was a missed solder joint on a component in the signal board. I support Ben and love his gear. But when my bass cuts out at shows it doesn't only affect me. I have three more guys in my band that shoot me dirty looks all night. For some reason bass players don't get the slack guitar players do when it comes to clams during shows. Anyhow, I'm sure Ben is sorting out the issues with the newer ones.

Ben is great I agree but I had planned on going shopping this morning and I'm glad I didn't I might have come home to a full blaze fire I'm disappointed to say the least.
Man that SUCKS! I always leave my plugged into a power supply at home and kill the power going to all my gear when I'm not playing through it.
Played through mine tonight and it sounded great, but I'm going to be keeping an eye on it now.
