So.. it's not as weak as those tone controls? I like it when I turn the bass knob up I get more bass not less treble and more midrange? I feel better thanks BFunk.
I think he is saying that is is the same type of eq, an interactive fender one. But the resistor and capacitor values chosen are different from typical designs. The real test is how much you like the sound. It does help you get to the sound you want when you know what type of eq you are dealing with, but eq type is never a deal breaker for me.

So at practice tonight I ran my Meatsmoke through the effects loop on my Markbass LM2. And for the first time I realized how beneficial this could be. With the LM2 it only by-passes the pre-amp, it still keeps the EQ in the loop( I think with other heads it by passes the EQ too). Anyhow, the only pedals I brought with me other than the MS was the Fuzzrocious DemonKing,and a NS2(which I didnt need). I wanted to pack light. Let me just say that my bass has never sounded this good. I guess running through the front and doubling up on the pre was effecting the tone,cause its way better by passed. It was just the perfect blend of high mids and low end for my band. Im so stoked. Also, the boost made a nice distortion/fuzz tone happen. I really don't think I need anymore pedals. Im at the point were my tone is exactly what I want it to be. Can't wait to record in Feb.

Nice I'm going to try both the effects loop and front of amp I think my Mesa does the same thing Frank are you running the high output also?
I bought a Big Spider from Ben last year for a project that didn't happen. It was crushing, absolutely crushing with my Peavey grind bass tuned down to Drop C and going into a Peavey TG Raxx preamp, Peavey Classic 120 tube power amp and Peavey 4x10 TVX. Ended up selling all that stuff. Just recently got into bass again with a new rig. I'm considering another BS but I'm tuning down to A# now and am not sure how it will sound. I'd love to buy more stuff from the guy. You'll probably have to add me to the list before the end of the year.
Yeah, in the effects loop I ran it high output. But I noticed that low did sound better in the front, because at that point your using two pre amps.

Meaning you prob really like the pre-amp in your Mesa. It's gonna sound great with your MS- pre. You might wanna try low and hi outputs though. The high might be too much. Like an active bass into a big muff.

Thanks Frank I'm defiantly going to be experimenting with this baby can't wait to get it I'm too chicken to ask Ben how long it may be "never disturb a genius at work "is what my Granpappy always told me 
something to try that sounds massive: Rat tail > pitchfactor or pog set to -1 oct and unison > Meat smoke OD channel or Preamp pedal boost channel.

What kinds of music are people playing using all of these pitch pedals and modulators ? I see some very cool pedals but I don't know what I would use them for?
Here you have a great example of a band were the bass player uses pitch shifting and fuzz in almost every songs.
For pitch shifting they use whammy 4 and the fuzz is a simple Bass Big Muff.
2 drums, 1 bass, 1 keyboard.

Wow that was interesting I never saw a guy cut all of his hair off stick tape all over himself and put the hair back on the music was good thanks for giving an old fart some education.
No problem.
These guys are already quite known in Portugal. Their album was produced by Chris Common wich a lot of TBers know has drummer from These Arms Are Snakes, he is also a great producer and has been working with some portuguese bands. Chris also played a special show with them. 3 drums on stage go really loud!
