***Club Verellen***

Just ordered a Big Spider. I'd been flip-flopping between it and an Octavio-type fuzz.

How does it react to a low B?

I don't know from experience, but I would bet it sounds pretty beastly... Although it depends on the amp... I've found some some setups just aren't ideal for it. Gotta have some tubes in the pre!

If someone mentions they have or are about to have something Verellen in this thread i'm just gonna go ahead and give them a number. Of course if someone is totally against the idea of clubs, just let me know and i'll take you out.

Also, I'm sure you all know this just by emailing him. But Ben's customer service is incredible. I had the slightest problem with my pre and he took care of shipping and had the pedal done and on the way back in less than a week. You could buy with the confidence that if something were to go wrong, Ben backs his stuff %100. I know that makes me feel good, because this pre-amp is gonna be part of my sound for a long time. There will be no flipping this guy. It's just too awesome.

Not very good. Sounds bone-crushing on EADG.

What's the flaw? Are the notes on the B just unintelligible? Too dirty?

I'll be using my Aguilar TH500, so no tubes for my normal rig. Anyone use The Big Spider with a solid-state amp with positive results?

Thin and sort of fizzy sounding. On all other strings it's thick and meaty. I've got a GK 700RBII and running into an Aguilar GS412.

UPDATE: apparently the pedal much prefers passive pickups. The actives in my Spector I guess are a bit too hot for it.

I'll be on board soon - Ben is making a "dirty white" Meatsmoke with matching MS pedal for me. A lot of my gigs won't make sense to bring a head into the room, but I've got a plan for that pedal! When they arrive, I'll check in with the pics...

+1 To Ben = Great Guy and Great Customer Service.

That is awesome. you're going to love both the head and the pre.

I've decided that I'm going to order a second verellen head in 2013. I would love to get the down payment in to get the 25% off but that's not in the cards before year's end. Besides, paying full price is totally worth it.
