CME Rickenbacker 4005CX!

Apparently RIC was going for a short scale bass version of the famous 360;

Really nothing like the old actual 4005 ;)
But hey, it's their 90th party! :)

That Jetglo one is truly gorgeous, particularly the CB and sparkle inlay, maybe too nice to actually PLAY. I suspect most of these will end up collector case-queens, unfortunately. Anybody who can afford one isnt schlepping it out to the annual Buds Bar and Grille Burger-Fest Jam. Nice case, too. Like all things 4005 related, I don't expect to ever see one in person.

I'd gig it if there were any gigs to gig at.

You gonna build one?

I ordered one of these in fireflo. Sadly it will likely be 2022 before i see it.

no idea of the tone but i was looking for an acoustic bass, found this looking at vintage 4005's, and went for it.

I am excited to use it for unplugged fun at home, and to bi-amp it and get some massive distortion on bridge pickup just to make it chug like it was probably never intended to chug.

I might be the only person here happy that you'll be chugging on it. I seriously thought about buying one and adding an additional pickup in the middle position, and I'm sure not many people here would appreciate me taking a router to it
