Hey everyone -

We will be at Dulcinea's on Friday night with special guest Justin Jones on sax. I think I will bring my Skjold 6-string that night, and will play through my Markbass F1/AE410 rig in case anyone wants to come hear that.

Hope to see you.

i was hoping to go, but i can't get off of work. i was jamming with jones and kather for a second... nothing came to fruition, but they are great people!
hope the gig goes well!

Was that a Bronco or a Mustang? There have been a few Mustangs on Denver CL recently that are real tempting since playing that bass at the GTG.

The one you played is a '78 Mustang. The Bronco is the recent Squier copy (I have one of those also, to knock around on).

Update on the Mustang: since the GTG, it has been re-strung with flats and given a fresh setup. Don't worry, the bridge hasn't been touched except for adjustments. Also, I carefully cleaned up the electronics and the output jack and it's working just as it should with no more cutting out or static.

I'll be playing the Mustang at church next week and if all goes well, I hope to become part of the normal rotation of bass players there.

You know, besides fingering noise the flats sound remarkably like the "vintage" rounds that were on it. That's really why I didn't put rounds back on it, I didn't want to have to break the strings in for several years to get a similar sound ;). I decided to start playing it in public again, so I tried to get it to intonate properly. Just wasn't happening with the old strings, they were just too dead.

I've been wanting to change those strings for years, just didn't have the heart to until you guys motivated me to put some fresh love into my favorite bass!

Jason has been with us for about 9 months now, and he is fitting in very well. This will be my first experience with Jones. I am looking forward to it.

I tried to be a bit vague to keep it from sounding like an ad. But since you asked...

Each year Evergroove Studio holds an anniversary party. We have it here at the facility which is located on 4.5 acres of forest land in Evergreen up near the Nat'l Forest. We have about 7-8 bands, 2-3 kegs, and I fly in My Dad and my Mom to help cook the food. Dad is a chef in Texas so the food is ALWAYS awesome. Starts about Noon and goes until... well.. whenever we stop.

This year the more rockin' bands will go from about noon 'til 8pm and then we switch over to more acoustic style, but still rockin', acts. We do this out of respect for the neighbors. Sounds travels very well in our small canyon.

So, I got a GK 700RB-II coming to me. Anybody have any 3-400 watt 2-10, 2-12, or 4-10 cab they want to unload?

Also, I have a GK backline 112 to put in as a trade or for sale.

That's a nice amp. I use a 1001RB-II and SWR Goliath 115 with my band and it ssounds great. There is a MM Audiophile 210 on Denver CL right now for a decent price. I heard those are nice but hefty.

we never get anything good on the springs CL...if we do, it's in the hands of one dude that's using craigslist to flip things for more cash.

Sounds like you have to drive to Denver to get the good stuff. :smug: I have found a lot of great gear on Denver CL. Mainly vintage electric pianos but the 70s SVT was my #1 score. Did you get your rig straightened out yet?

i'm still just using the TC rh450 and one of their 210 cabs. I've been spending money on basses lately so i haven't expanded it at all.

I ended up selling the traynor to that dude locally and he's got it listed down here for $49 more than he gave me for it, lol. Originally he had it at ~$100 more. He bought a couple of the crappy basses i had around and then marked them up for quite a profit if he sold them for what he was asking.

He lost his job or some nonsense and is now making a living off craigslist and unemployment checks.

I did go up to denver to pick up a crate blue voodoo half stack guitar amp. it's pretty nice...all tube, which is win!

Evergroove,

Sounds pretty sweet! I'll check with some of my crew back home though, I might be headed back to South Dakota around that time. Keep us updated, huh?

Party is July 11th. If you wanna attend, shoot me an e-mail, and I'll send you all the information. I'm doing it this way because I'd rather not post my address on a public forum :hiding:

Oh, make sure you tell me we met on TB and the e-mail is brad AT evergroove (DOT) com
