US: West Colorado Club

I haven't - didn't even know it existed. I tend to visit Spotlight here in Fort Collins (very nice people) but haven't visited other shops in Colorado. Thanks for the good words. :D

Yeah man, for sure! Dan's got some nice gear and he's always got a couple customizing projects cooking. Plus, ALL the guys there are super cool cats AND players.

For those that are into the promotional thing, I whipped up a quick Facebook cover photo. Feel free to grab it an use it on your page if you like!

Im going to try and get up there, sounds like a great time and it would be nice to meet people!

Basses I could bring:
Zon Sonus Special 5
Status 6
Tobias Standard 6
Sadowsky Metro RV5
Sadowsky Metro M5-24
Clevinger EUB DLX 5

Sweet man, good to hear! If you do, I'd love to check out that electric upright. I've been looking at the NXT5 (have played the NXT4) and would love to see another EUB.

If you guys haven't already, make sure to RSVP to Funkyebk... Scroll back a few posts, I posted a clickable to email him directly!

Interesting. Guess I never saw that one because it's not on the main [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] and I didn't pay much attention past that because I've toyed with the idea of building a Fitzmaurice Jack (or two?) more than fEARful.

Anyway...

Don't forget to Link Removed and let him know you're coming. He and Dan are working on food and I'm bringing beverages, so accurate numbers count! Pass the info on to other people not on Talkbass too!

Oh hey, before I forget!!!

Are you coming to the Get Together on Sunday? Do you have old sets of strings just laying around and cluttering up your space? Bring them for Dan! I ran across this thread Donate Your Old Strings and Dan does a lot of string changes at the shop, so he's saving old sets to send off to these guys: Link Removed. It's a good opportunity to contribute to a good cause!

They take sets, singles, accessories, etc... I've got three 5-string sets I'll be bringing and a collection of 150-ish guitar picks to add to Dan's next shipment to those guys. :bassist:

What an excellent idea! I admit, I had no clue that some people couldn't get strings :(

If I bring in my new strings, could Premier change them out for me, and do any adjustments if needed?

I was thinking about turning the old strings into jewelry or something but this idea is much better!

I never even thought about it either. I've been hanging on to old string sets "just in case," but I can get new strings pretty easily. If my old sets help out someone who may not even have all the strings on their bass, that's WAY better than just having them sit around the house.

Premier definitely does that! They also have the best selection of bass strings in the area (they even have Thomastik Infelds in stock!), so you can get strings there if you don't have a set with you. Check out this pic from their Facebook Page, the wall of stings!!

5sg.

Looking forward to it!

I'm planning on bringing just my '04 USA Spector NS-2, but I could bring one or two of the following if anybody is interested in playing a:

USA Spector NS-4
Spector Euro LX4
Spector CRFM
Fender Geddy Lee Jazz
Fender Kingman ABG
Rickenbacker 4003
Rickenbacker 4004Cii

See you all tomorrow!

Rich

Edit: Is the event start time still 2:00 to 6:00?

Just got the package from Jay and the awesome guys at Gruv Gear! Fretwraps in SM/MD/LG for giveaway, a Duostrap Neo for demo/review (WORD!) and some catalogs of all the stuff they offer. I'll hook that strap up to my Stambaugh, a monster of a 6-string, and we'll see how it does!

I also got word from Dan and he's HOOKING US UP. He called Qdoba for some tasty grubbage, and says he'll also have giveaway stuff like hats, tshirts, cozys, etc.

It's gonna be a good time!

5sg, marriage is a trip! As far as date nights are concerned, yes, they are usually quite rare for us. Some couples I know go out just as much, if not more, than they did while dating. And the excitement level? It varies. When you've been with someone for over a decade and a half sometimes visiting a new pet shop with out kids in tow can be the highlight of the day!

I need to go to church and take care of a couple details today but I WILL be seeing you guys this afternoon! Yippee! :hyper:
