In other news... I dropped off my Rumble for diagnostics and repairs yesterday. I got a really good vibe from the shop I ended up going to. Sadly, their loaner amp isn't compatible with basses so I'm stuck with my puny headphone amp in the meantime. Meh, better than nothin' right?

They also had a handsome doggy lounging around, recovering from a tumor removal on his neck :( I think he was a red Doberman Pinscher.

A call just came in from them. My Rumble is on the do not repair list from Fender so I'm getting a replacement amp sent to the shop and it should be there in 2 weeks. The shop has to send the old amp back. Drat. I was hoping to sell the old amp to an electronic geek or something :p

2 weeks isn't bad for electronics. Still sucks to be without an amp Hang in there.

I don't know enough about gear to even begin speculating about why they are choosing to completely replace it and honestly am not too concerned over why they won't repair it, as long as the costs of all the shipping + handling stuff is covered by them!

Good luck with the gigs, 5sg and JoeVictim!

If anyone here needs a pet sitter, dog walker, or help with basic grooming tasks please keep me in mind! I'm starting up my own business, serving Aurora and it's surrounding areas.

Don't forget kids, my funk band is playing this weekend at Wrigley's in Golden from 3:00-7:00pm. Great horn band stuff, good eats, cool hang! We'll be on their (relatively) new back deck/patio area, so it'll be a fun time. If you come down, bring your sunscreen! Also, make sure to say hi!

Well, I still don't have a number (hint, hint) but I promise that I do live here and if you are into something completely different from the previous listings, I'll be playing at Quixote's Friday and Sunday nights, the Sunnyside Music Festival (4-6pm) on Saturday afternoon and at the Mishawaka on Saturday night. We'll also be at the Boulder Theater on Friday the 13th.

Not that I don't love the funk.

It's a Grateful Dead thing and this is the rig (from the Civic Center Park at the beginning of August):

Dude, that is a KickAss looking rig!

It's really fun. For some reason, it started sounding much better when I ran each pickup through its own amp/speaker setup. Run in mono, it's great, but in stereo, the clarity and depth is really amazing. It's only 140 watts total, but it seems to be all I need with the old school speakers.

I just got one of the D140s reconed and remagnetized and returned to me today. It was in pretty sad shape. Can't wait to hear it this weekend!

My only complaint is that it won't feed back. Weird.
