Good deal? I'm looking for a bigger cab than my current 112.

I have one of those, mine has the neo speakers rather than the regular Eminence tens. Either way, it's the best cabinet Avatar builds and can run with any of the industry standard 210s.

The knock on Avatar is that they use the same cabinet shells across multiple speaker configurations, so you aren't necessarily getting a cab that's tuned for the specific drivers you pick. But - the cabinet seems to perfectly mate with those tens. It sounds just like it should.

Not light, though.

Greetings CO, folks!

I'm going to be in your beautiful state in August to play a wedding and am wondering if anyone has any leads on where I can rent an upright bass, preferably in the Vail area. It's a bluegrass gig and I don't need anything special/carved/etc.

I've contacted Robert Ross in Denver, and if I can't find anything else will get one from him, but due to the nature of our travel plans, I'd prefer to pick up and return closer to the actual gig.

Thanks!

Ross, let's hope the constant afternoon rain and tornado action shuts down in time for your outdoor gig in Lafayette!

I was nervous about that gig last night on my drive up... from the DTC to Lafayette, 1hr 35min in rush hour/construction/rain. (I was pondering the uselessness of driving up for a freebie outdoor gig that was probably going to be rained out anyway, and was quite frustrated by the time I got there). But it turned out to be one of the best, most fun gigs we've had to date! The rain broke and the sun came out right as we got set up, we drew quite a crowd, kids were playing in the fountain next to us, and we played as late as dark/noise ordinances allowed. "Spontaneous" horn band concert in a plaza for the win. We did even get a little pocket money out of it too... one of the trumpet players put out his case (a la downtown street artist style) and we all came away with $21. Not bad for an 11-piece horn band with only tips!

Rocked my Icon for that gig too, and it KILLED. I also had the opportunity to test out the active/passive feature... batteries started dying about an hour in! Switched to passive and kept right on grooving. What a life saver!

I really wanted to walk up and see your band, but got last minute grandson babysitting duties. I live only seven blocks from where you played. Well, maybe next time. Glad it went well.
