So I had some GAS that needed treated. I didn't have the money to buy another Zon, Roscoe ect. to feed the need. Therein lies the experiment.
I bought a used Peavey Cirrus Tigereye 5er after reading some great reviews. I got a pretty good deal and still have enough money to eat during my class in march. I've heard that the Cirrus stands up to botique basses costing twice as much. I'd like to find out.
It'll be the Cirrus versus the family. I'll record a couple tracks in a couple different styles ( or my poor bastardization of what I think a style should be) and some solo stuff and see how it stacks up.
I'd also like to get your input on how these basses do for you. Is it your main player? Trusty backup? Wall candy? What else are you rocking? I understand these basses are quite underrated so lets see! Granted I'd rather have a new Zon or Roscoe but......
The competition!!!
I played a Cirrus at Sam Ash and I was very impressed with the tightness of the B string... I think it might have been a 35" scale bass though.
As far as the modern Peaveys go, Cirrii and Grinds are 35", Milleniums and Zodiacs are 34".
Not so! My Millennium Plus 4 is 35" scale.
Here's a snapshot out of the Millennium Plus line's manual:

I think the Millennium BXP line are 34" scale.
You are both right. The older USA Millenniums are 35", the current BXP Millenniums are 34".
And the never sold in stores but blown out by Musician's Friend a year or two ago - USA Millennium Standard P/Js are 34" scale.

Did they sell a 34"scale USA 5 string also?
I see the OP has the Cirrus up for sale in the classifieds.
Looks like a nice one!
