My '62 is a shade over 8lbs with the pickup cover on!

LOL, but it's very easy to wear and sounds just like it should.

I believe my dad's (Mkoby) fretless P-bass that is pre-1980 weighs under 9 lbs.

I've got a Dark Star P bass that weighs 7 lbs, 2 oz.

Feels like a toy at first, but it's a joy to play on long sets and was my go-to bass for months after my back surgery.

I have an 82 just like it and it is alder. The color is not blond (see through) like the new ones, it is vintage white.

I've got a '96 50th Anniversary LTD Edition that weighs 8.5 lbs, a 2001 50th Anniversary of the Precision that weighs 8lbs 4 oz and an 1982 '57 RI that weighs 8lbs even. Most of the early Fullerton basses are very light.
