Complaining About Bandmates

We'll be on a group band text. I will write something counter to what everybody else thinks. Then the group texts stop, or more likely, they dropped me and are discussing what I wrote. I'm trying to be "let go" for creative differences before I quite.

That's interesting. Can you be dropped and added without seeing that, or do they have a completely different thread going without you??

I've played guitar for 30 years (amateur) and recently switched to bass. Their past bass players were so bad the bar is set really low.

They'd say my expectations are too high. When we agree to learn a song I'm the only one who actually seems to know the song. Guitar and drums seem to be winging it.

I'm not critical of the playing, my playing isn't great, I'm annoyed they didn't learn the song well enough to play it from memory.

I get annoyed too easily. I had a solid 5 minute argument with the guitar player over what note an E string plays. I had to clip on a tuner to prove it plays an E.

I have been complaining about my bandmate in the past, that he was not committed as I was, and he was chronically late.
I don't know why, but something has changed. Now I can see he is 100% with the band, maybe it happened when we started seeing the results (we have been way too slow in the beginning, writing the first song took an infinite time, while the following ones are coming much easier, like if we learned to write and also are understanding each other more easily and more effectively), but I'm so happy about that. We are a true band now.

this is odd....why don't you just teach them how to roll a cable up...pretty easily taught in like 2 mins...lol.

You can teach it in 2 minutes but few will pay enough attention for it to sink in. Those people are known as bassists.

Too nitpicky. 'struth. I sweat the details, mine and others. I know 99.9% of the audience doesn't know or care, but *I DO*.

In short, if you want the party guy that always wears the funny hat - not me.
