complaint box/forum/soapbox

I've got one.

I've got an the new Ubuntu version of Linux on a laptop of mine, and I can't get the freaking wireless internet card to work. I've tried lots of different stuff I've found on the Ubuntu help forums, but keep running into new problems.

Ugh, this is really frustrating.

There, was that a decent complaint?

Cheers

“I can't stand cheap people. It makes me real mad when someone says something like, "Hey, when are you going to pay me that $100 you owe me?" or "Do you have that $50 you borrowed?" Man, quit being so cheap!” (Jack Handy quote).

i hate when people don't pay me back after they borrow money from me, then complain when i ask about it. in my experience i have to hound people to get what's owed to me or i'll never see it.

I would have to say that posts in the For Sale forum that are unrelated to the sale of the item bug me. "omg!!11! i wish I could afford that!!" or "why?? Why is this bass for sale when I have no money?"

I'm of the opinion that, if your post is not regarding a question about the sale of the item at hand, why clutter up the forum? :)

They are nice ways of bumping threads ;)

have a complaint? about anything? something that really pisses you off?

Not so much pissed off. More like annoyed & exasperated - though I know it'll never actually stop:

"Superlative" threads. You know, the ones that begin, "Who's the most...?" or "What's the best...?" Especially the ones that ask "of all time" or "ever"...:rollno:

People, what's the point? To find new & exciting ways to start a flame war? These kinds of topics are by their very nature subjective. Despite whatever evidence for your preference you can muster, it still boils down to only your personal preference.

So, i volunteered at a city-wide fundraiser for the locals hospitals today. various companies donated lotsa money (Including Irving, for any of you north-eastern U.S.'ers and Atlantic Canadians). At the main event today there were games, activities, and the main focus of the day was the group run. The event that I was in chage of was the soccer-baseball tournament. I was an umpire and a line-judge for the matches i did.
Supposed to be a fun day, right?
People are so EFFING COMPETATIVE!!! Grown men, 30-40 years old, arguing over a foul ball with a 18 year old (me) at a CHARITY EVENT WHERE THERE ARE NO PRIZES BEING GIVEN FOR WINNING!!!
All these people did was bitch, bitch, bitch! And swear in front of little kids.
Learn to have a little but of fun, OK?

Worst. Attitudes. Ever.

AND ANOTHER THING!
stop living your spoiled childhood through your freakin kids!
and you look really stupid when your upper-body is way overbuilt compared to your legs. Earthworm Jim anyone?

and that is my rant. i'm going to stop now before my head explodes with rage.

don't need that 'cos im a super gratefully minded people:D, nothing pissed me off!

okok I got one. i always love to read those "out of control" threads (e.g. the "Does it matter where your instrument is made" thread)and Mods always shut them down too quickly...I know, I know it's the right thing to do. my bad though. no complain no complain :smug: :smug:

[Rant]

I hate the internet.

I should probably be more specific; I hate the way people on the internet say things they wouldn't say to people they've never met. If you insult somebody you've never met (I am aware of how hypocritical I'm being) under a freakin' pseudonym, you are a coward. If you insult someone you've never met for holding a different opinion than you under a pseudonym (or at all for that matter) then you are a coward and a fool.

Case and point, I was reading a review for the new Underoath album today (I can't post the URL because of the massive amounts of swearing involved) And the guy hated underoath and the album, and that's fine, everyone has their own opinions. What wasn't fine however was the tone of the review, which is epitomised by the ending line: "@#$% this band, this style, and anyone who likes it."

Talkbass is a haven in this regard; people actually are aware they are talking to real people, and not just faceless robots, and thus pay them some respect.
