Compression and the Mandela effect

bazz.jpg
I don't have that problem.

What I have discovered is shocking, and I am compelled to share it with TB.

There is a reason why millions of bass players "never use compression". These players, who have been making music for 20/30/40/50 years without ever needing compression, are in reality, suffering a partial memory from their alternate timeline.

Their history had no convention, no common practice of dynamic compression applied to audio. In their timeline, dynamic compression technology existed, but was only used in sonar and radar applications, and later in the broadcasting of certain High frequency bands. They never used compression because IT DIDN'T EXIST FOR THEM.

Sometime in early 2012, two timelines, practically identical, but with notable differences, MERGED. Those of us who remember using compression before 2012 experienced a different iteration of the Multiverse, than those who "never used compression". Our timelines have merged, leaving in it's wake, dissent, confusion, and a stubbornness of conviction. We each remember a different "reality".

I know it's a lot to take in, but it's real. The Mandela Effect is real.

Is that what explains why so many dive bar players on TB only need their bass and amp to play songs that were originally recorded with fuzz/distortion/filters/compressors/OD 20/30/40/50 years ago?

I mean, it could also have a simpler explanation, but I'd probably be banned for typing it here...

This kind of loose talk has forced me to reevaluate my tolerance of "Bucky Balls" and their continued existence.

I'm now convinced they are conspiring against me, and I must release my Quark to put them down, once and for all.

On a related note, does this mean that a TurDuckEn employs some measure of compression?

I ambiguously await your forward feed, closed loop, synthesized controlled stasis reply with an understandably small amount of enthusiasm.

Out.
