Compressor choices..?

Ok mabye someone can help....I am a Type o negative fan, trying to get Peter Steeles tone, I am very very close, I have a compressor going into my distortion, chorus and delay, then the signal goes into a sonic max...........my question is do I have the compressor and sonic max. In the right places? Where would you guys put them?

The Dynacomp is good for guitar, bad for bass. I mean if Steele used it then OK, try it for his sound; but if he didn't, then don't waste your time with it. BTW, I just searched and found zero reference to him using any compressor, let alone the Dynacomp.

I met another bassist on here who knew Peter Steele personally and told him about my quest to get Peter Steeles tone. I explained to him that I, like allmother bassists who are Type O fans , was going by the pics of his gear I found on the web, some of those pics being on this forum, I went and got the right pedals but it still sounded like there was a lot missing, so I bought the same bass head, and a 410 cab, closer still but not exact......he told me there was a ton adding to his signal, like pre and post signal compression, I have no idea what type of compressor so I tried out a few at guitar center, the dyna comp sounded good and the price was right so I bought it, it sounds pretty amazing with this setup, he played his bass more like a baritone guitar so mabye thats why it sounds good with all the other stuff adding to my signal. At this point I have just about everything signal wise that I could get that I know he used, so Im just experimenting.
