Compressor Sound

I am lazy too search. Please post any ytou tube link to a good bass pedal for compression or a distroted pedal. Or a mp3 would be great. Just to be sure the compressor makes that cool techno sound. If i am thinking of a nother thing please correct and send those links. Thanks all.

okay okay true true. I should have searched. Shortly after posting the thread, i searched youtube and the TB search, and i have reached a conclusion. i cant find a good sound clip or a sound clip. most are terrible or removed. So now i revise this: Hello gracious TBers (sorry if i sound like a pissed off *******, read in a humorous fashion) i have searched all the search functions and areas on google youtube and TBass. Does anyone have a personal MP3 or a clip they found of a compression pedal, or whatever pedal it is that makes the Techno sound similiar to the garageband soundclip distorted finger bass 3 or 1

ok sorry. Shortly after powsting the thread i searched TB youtube and google. Couldnt find anything similiar to the garageband siound clip Distorted Finger Bass 1, 2, 3, 4. Please post if you have one. If i am thinking of a different pedal please correct me thank you.

Regarding the garageband sound... you probably have the techno pak because that "Distorted finger bass" is not in my sounds.

A) But my guess is that the sound you are looking for is not a compression pedal. It's distortion. The name distorted finger bass should be a clue. :ninja:

B) double click on the software instrument in garage band and it will list the effects for you. I'm assuming that both distortion and compressor are checked. Now remove the compressor check and play and then put it back on and remove the distortion check and play. Which ever one makes that "cool techno sound" is the one to buy.

C) Don't be lazy. It gives us mac users a bad name. :hiding:

You Mac users ARE lazy though. You go out and buy a computer that won't fall apart on you just so you don't have to take the time to learn how to reformat and debug your comp once a month ;)

yeah psychbass, you were right. I went in to garage band and took out the compressor and then listened, then the distortion, and the distortion was it. Laugh all you want about my sentences and me but i tohught that compressor clipped the soundwaves and gave it the sound. Now the question:
Any good distortion pedals around 1-200 dollars. I like the look of the blow torch but i forget how much it is. Any tips or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Unfortunately, you're still at square one...

The majority of overdrive, distortion, and fuzz pedals out there are under $200, covering virtually every sound under the sun. So... you still need to figure out what exactly you're looking for. Or, at least help us help you.

Since you have Garageband, why not record a clip of what you're hearing? Then it'll be a piece of cake to help you out. ;)
