Compulsive hoarder seeking opinion

Don't go overboard with an artificial "must sell x" (unless there is an emergency).

I find that it is very important to not sell instruments "before their time". With that I mean I need to be satisfied that there is nothing more to discover or nothing more interesting in a particular instrument before I can safely sell it. If I don't get that done the gear flipping rotation just kicks into even higher gear.

Now, the trick is - how to do that? How to come to a state of mind where you say that a certain instrument has no more intellectual depth for you? Testing.

I thought I was over the top with 5 Peaveys. A Dyna Bass 4, Dyna Bass 5, Custom 5 Cirrus w/Bubinga top, a USA Millennium Plus 5 Tiger Strip, and a USA Cirrus Bolt On Walnut top. As for the 4 or 5 string, to me it depends a lot on what type music you play. Most of my playing is at church for the Praise Band, so I absolutely cannot make it without the low B. I started out with the Dyna Bass 4, wanted to try a 5 and bought the Dyna Bass 5 and loved it. So I haven't had a 4 in my hands for about 6 years. In my research, there are 2 genres of music that lean toward a 5 sting, Contemporary Christian and ........... (get this)...... Heavy Metal. What a hoot!!
