Compulsive hoarder seeking opinion

I am a mediocre guitar player who picked up bass, mainly for leisurely bedroom recording. I have a Peavey Cirrus 4 USA bubinga, a Peavey Axcelerator 4 2T, and a Millenium 5 USA. Truthfully, I haven't played either of these much and my amp is currently limited to an Acoustic B20. This is mainly due to a job that requires me to travel away from home half the year. Eventually, I hope to actually dedicate more time to playing to include live performances- both guitar and bass.

Long story short, I am an out of control hoarder and have acquired way to much stuff. I love all three of these beauties, but my sense and wife (financial advisor) tells me I should sell two and keep one. I have over 50 guitars currently. Given my status as a part-time bedroom bass player, which would you recommend I keep?

The Millenium 5 offers the most variety of sounds, due to the 5th string and the pre-amp. I've had some difficulty getting used to the addition of the low B string. Smallish hands seem to limit my stretch on this.

The Cirrus 4 is a little more comfortable to me as a 4-string, but long stretch an issue.

Axcelerator 4 2T, a little shorter scale. While still recognizing my limited skills and stretch, I find this slightly easier to handle. But, a narrower range of sound compared to the other two.

I think this is an impossible decision for anyone but you. If I were to pick one of those three, I would go with the Millenium, but it sounds like that would be your last choice. One thought, though, if you are a guitar player just getting accustomed to playing bass, I wouldn't make any decisions based on "long stretch" being an issue.

Still getting accustomed to playing bass is an accurate description. In my mind- keeping all three is justified until I can figure out what works best. But, I can make that argument for almost all of the gear I have.

Negotiate with your wife: sell one immediately. Then sell a second and use the proceeds to shop for another. Promise her you will never have more than two basses at any one time and you can satisfy your hoarding disorder by buying a selling the open spot.

Your proposed strategy covers the OP's three basses; now how to manage his wife's demands vis-a-vis his collection of fifty guitars? I suspect the complaint
about the basses is only the first volley in her de-clutter campaign.

Anyone see that massive guitar auction of actor Richard Gere's collection? We're not talking Indonesian Squiers, but rather top shelf vintage Gibsons and Guilds.
About a million bucks worth of axes, which he spent decades hunting down, all sold away because Gere's new wife "Got tired of tripping over them" (Gere's
words) and told him, "Get them out of here."

If I were Gere, I'd show wifey a photo of Cindy Crawford and say, "Don't ever forget that I flipped this."

Cirrus all the way. People who play 5 bangers will tell you the millennium and I do like that bass (in a 4 string). Cirrus 4 string is a comfortable bass. I would dedicate myself to getting acquainted with the cirrus.
