i "found" this file off the internet of band in a box and its a .iso file...what exactally do i use to open it? if i click it it brings up roxio cd burner. and if i try it with winrar it doesnt work...what to do!?

The roxio cd burner opens up because ISO files are usually images. You should be able to burn the ISO file to a cd, just let roxio handle it.
If you don't want to go down that road, you can download a virtual cd emulator called Daemon Tools(google it). With that you can mount the ISO file as it were a cd and install the program from there.

Roxio should recognize the iso file as an image file and should burn it as such.
If not, try to see if you can find an option called "Burn image" or something like that.
now my next question...if its going to burn to the cd as a image, how in the world do i install it as a program? you dont just install an image!
When Roxio sees the file as an image file, it automatically expands the contents of the ISO file to the cd and then you can pop the cd in and install the program just like normal.
An .iso file is an image of a CD - it's not a bunch of files to copy to a CD or anything like that. Once the image is written to the CD, you'll see all of the regular files listed as normal. This means that if there are any autoplay files (a screen that pops up when you put the CD in), they will function as if you had the "real" CD.
Most Linux distributions are downloaded as an .iso. Because it's such a big part how Linux gets distributed, most Linux distros have a right-click "Burn to CD" command for .iso files.

I'm gonna have to agree with the French man here. Just use Daemon Tools. I find it to be easier than trying to burn a CD.
