I want to say I could get rid of my Ampeg and the problem would be fixed, but I don't want to play the ProLine unplugged, which is what I normally do anyway.
Getting back my ProLine wouldn't be a problem. I mean, I wouldn't want it back. I think I'm over the jazz bass after six years, it's time to get a P/J or other setup. Besides, the ProLine is still available through the CS, so I'd always be able to get one.
When it comes right down to it, needle point doesn't tickle my fancy so much as bass, sorry Greg. I mean, needle point just doesn't bring out the mids.

Years and years ago, I used to hate brands based on one experience. Now, I know better. I still hate everything Schecter offers, don't get me wrong. But I played a few nice Deans, and a Gibson that really made me eat my own words. (Same goes to Cort and Spector as well.)
Now I know that some companies make great basses, some make so-so, some make crap, and some have a "diamond in the ruff" type of line-up.
Maybe the Corvette just isn't my cup of tea. Maybe I'd be a lot happier with an LX. But then again, I won't know until I find one.
Until then, I think I'm going to try and work out a deal with my local shop. I know it's a farcry to think they'll throw money my way for the trade, but I'm also not about to let my ProLine go for $800.
