Contrabass Balalaika

Would totally dig one but I'm a banjo player now.

I remember watching this Russian soap opera with my mother in law when I was visiting the family overseas. Part of the plot happened in a music school, but it's a cheap soap opera so they are using the same big room to film many of the indoor locations. To indicate a scene was happening at the music school, there we would be a double bass and a contra balalaika leaned against the wall behind the actors. Always made me smile.
 
It ain't rock and roll, but I like it. This orchestra just doesn't have a balalaika, it has nearly enough balalaikas to fill a vintage VW bus. Recorded in the Soviet Union in June 1962. Recommended, if you can find a copy.
