I've got a couple of Stone the Crows albums. Really like them. Such a shock when founder and lead guitarist Lee Harvey was electrocuted on stage and died instantly. Dewar is second from the left. Harvey has his back to the audience.

May 3, 1972

According to the British rock paper Melody Maker, Les Harvey died on stage with Stone the Crows. Some members of the audience had ripped up wires from the group's equipment, and the roadies had spent some time repairing the damage. They missed the fact that a ground wire was still disconnected. During the course of the show, Les Harvey reached for the microphone attached to that wire. His fingers were on the metal strings of his guitar at the time. He died instantly as the jolt of electricity coursed through his body.

The Newport News Daily Press reported: Harvey, before a horrified crowd, was thrown into the air and landed with his electric guitar in contact with the mike stand. The other members of the band tried to free him but received electric shocks for their efforts. Someone managed to kick Harvey's guitar away from him, but it was too late.

RIP, Lee.
