''The Spiders and The Electrolucent Mind Machine. The Spiders (pre Alice Cooper) began to use props on stage which mainly consisted of anything they could find in the alley behind the VIP club in Phoenix. When Charlie Carnal came on board things changed in a big, big, big way. The Spiders had a first rate light show, it blew every other out of the water. One of the biggest lighting effects was the "Electrolucent Mind Machine." It was so large it never made it out of the VIP except for one time we schlepped it up to Winslow, AZ way before the Eagles were standing on a corner. The photo is of the EMM in action. Don't stare at it too long, it is hypnotizing. It gives the appearance that Dennis and everything in the room is being sucked into it. Who's to say it wasn't?'' roadie-Michael Allen
