After the Kaleidoscope dissolved, David Lindley went to England where he played with Terry Reid for a couple of years. Jimmy Page was indebted to Lindley for his famous violin bow act after he'd seen David play guitar with a bow while watching Kaleidoscope in LA, he appropriated it wholesale.

Although, Robert Palmer was the name that popped into my head when I first saw the picture.
Bonus question: Who's the lefty bass player? I haven't a clue, but he resembles the late character actor Bo Hopkins. The venue was almost certainly the Whiskey A-Go-Go.
