I find the neo pagan thing interesting, them wanting to reclaim Norse heritage, the satanist thing seems a bit misdirected.Well, part of it is the neo-pagan or satanist thing, which is a discussion for the Lobby, not here. I think you're basically right that it's a way rebellious youth are expressing themselves, their alienation, whatever. I just find it very interesting that it's these peaceful, prosperous countries where music and imagery of violence and depression is most popular. The string of Norwegian Metal pix wasn't exactly an ode to joy. Compare that to music coming out of African or Latin American countries torn by famine and war.
