I think it was Arlo (it may have been Pete Seeger) who recalled that one of the aspects of Woody being "anti-establishment" was his aversion to bathing. At times it reached the point where they would have to wash him down against his will.
But he was a great patriot and a true force for workers' and human rights .
I still listen to cuts from that album! It has my favorite version of "Whiter Shade of Pale" on it. I wish they had done more.

Here is a live version of HSAS doing "Whiter Shade Of Pale" from 1983. The band I was in at time did this version.
Yes, it's a really good album. The wild thing is the tracks were recorded in an arena as a soundcheck with overdubs and audience sounds added in the studio. I have it on CD.
Yeah, I always thought that was cool too. I bought that release on cassette back when it first came out because I was always a Hagar fan. I was going through some old boxes in a closet a couple of years ago and found it again. The little felt pad in the cassette was gone so I took apart another cassette and fixed it, then had to rig up a cassette player into my computer to make a copy before it finally bit the dust. I finally managed to find a digital copy of "Whiter...", "Missing You", and "Top of the Rock" on a hard drive we have here at the radio station where i work.
Takes me back 33 years to high school, that's for sure!
