Mr. 5 string. Keith talks about removing the low E-string and his unique tuning in his book "Life". No wonder no one else sounds like him.

That’s why nobody sounds like him.
I’ve always found it of much interest btw, that over the years he has always used all manner of guitars, and he makes them all sound the same. I don’t know of any other player that can do that.
The main open Keith uses is GDGBD, but he plays regular 6 string in regular tuning too.
Another way of looking at it is that the D, G, and B strings are the same as regular tuning, so they are a great point of reference if you play six string and you want to experiment with the Keith tuning.
Take off the low E, so you don't have to worry about that, and then the A and high E are just dropped a tone - so you've only really got those two notes to get your head around.
So once you've established that you've got this point of reference, or 'comfort zone' if you like, plus that the outer strings are dropped a tone, then it won't take you too long to start finding your way around, and finding new 'Keith like' sounds on the guitar.
Footnote - re the low E, you can also tune it up to G if you don't want to take it off completely.
