Cool rock n roll photos

An early pioneer before the guitars moved in - Big Jay McNeely in 1953:

This picture is every bit as evocative as the ones that feature big-name artists, if not more. This must have been SOME concert!!

My first YES concert
July 20 1976
Relayer / Solo Album tour
Cow Palace San Francisco
Roger Dean stage set and laser light show. Ahh - the memories

Not my first concert, but it was the best ever! Saw the show in Hampton Roads, VA. It was mind-boggling to hear that much music coming from five people. :woot:

[EDIT]- The Who from Tommy.

I've seen this picture before, and I've always wondered if:

a) This is an optical illusion,
b) A rush of adrenaline suddenly hit him, or
c) Mr. Townshend simply had some serious hops! This is not your typical stage leap!

But then I saw this version of the pic:

Whichever one happens to be the real, un-manipulated picture, it's cool either way!

Thank you for the posters who put captions next to their pictures. It makes your photo contribution a lot more enjoyable when viewers know who it is. Again thanks. Just sayin.

I was going to post something similar.

Great thread. Would be really great if I knew who all the bands were.

Post names, dammit!!!!!!!!!!

:)

Das all. Subscribed.

One of my Thunderbird brethren posted this great shot of Tom Hamilton - What trip to play for such a huge crowd!

Tom was playing left handed that day...oh wait, Getty Images has got it backwards.
I look at that pic of jailbait Joan Jett and realize that she (and I) have grown a bit older dammit!
Still think she's a hottie. :D

I see righty. You sure you're not holding your phone backwards?
