My first concert ever, 1977, 12 yo, Peter Frampton, opening was Rick Derringer. Of course, we had no idea who he was until he played Rock and Roll Hoochicoo.

Have you not seen the Metallica doc "Some Kind of Monster?" That's the band psychologist as featured in the film. He was brought in to help the band through James's first return from rehab. He's a "Stewart Smalley" type and watching Lars try to roll with the doctor's cliched bromides is comedy gold. Must-see. Also, great subplot with the band selecting Trujillo for the ride.

I love that movie, especially when they give the doctor his walking papers.
Robert coming in and saying he wants to play Battery is spectacular. I don't think the band was expecting or ready for that gauntlet being thrown down.
So many other gold moments, they were a mess and it's all on film.

Yeah that was on the To The Bone tour in DC a couple of years ago. Phenomenal. So glad I was able to see PT on their last tour.

At first I couldn't tell what he was holding, but then I realized it's a "cake cutter" comb for the 'fro, and a pair of gloves (not sure about the gloves, though).
