They had played together in the past and had worked on each other's solo projects. So, on April 3, 1988, Bob Dylan, Jeff Lynne, Tom Petty, George Harrison, and Roy Orbison got together in Malibu to record an all-star single called "Handle With Care."

The session went so well that the group, calling itself the Traveling Wilburys, decided to record an album together. They ended up recording a second album.

I can't take my eyes off the axes! DAAAaaaaaaaaang.
