I totally get what you’re saying, and I can appreciate what you must have experienced in Norfolk, VA, circa ‘68.
Band Leader of Orleans, and two-term Congressman representing a chunk of the
Mid-Hudson Valley, John Hall.
1974ish…My friend, Paul, an I used to hitchhike down to Poughkeepsie, NY to help lug amps n such when they were a regional band…good guys, all of them.
The name of the club was Frivolous Sal’s Last Chance Saloon!
When I told him that story, I got as far as “Frivolous Sal’s”, and he finished the sentence “Last Chance Saloon”.
We had a laugh, he thanked me for the help, and he asked me to be sure to thank Paul.
