It fits perfectly, the narrative of the lyrics is that the poor schmuck is defeated by rejection, so he's declaring his intention to kill himself over some girl who clearly couldn't care less. The image is no more terrifying than some slasher movie poster. Tasteless or dark humor? You have to decide. But it's attention getting, which is the whole point.
The original picture sleeve for the Can't Stand Losing You single. Rather terrifying looking, wouldn't you say?

Yeah, my first thought when I saw that was, "Wow. Now THERE are two crazy ###### #######..."Love this pic. Joe looks like , "wait, I'm usually the craziest person in the room."

Warpaint are a really good band. Check out some of their videos if you've never seen them. Worth the time, IMO.

For a second, I thought that was my youngest brother. At least he was smart enough to know that he had no fashion sense. Every time he wanted new clothes, he asked me to go along and do the selecting. The only mistake I ever made with him, I made with myself too. Anyone remember the $10 Beatles shoes? The soles wore out before you got home from the store. In '65-'66, $10 was worth something.
Wish You Were Here, album cover outtakes — 1975. I always thought those flames were special FX, but I guess they actually set that guy on fire.
