"I came home one day from school after being chased by kids singing "Yellow Submarine", and I didn't understand why. It just seemed surreal: why are they singing that song to me? I came home and I freaked out on my dad: 'Why didn't you tell me you were in The Beatles?' And he said, 'Oh, sorry. Probably should have told you that.'" - Dhani Harrison

Richard Wright wanted to (eventually did) pay a settlement to Torry for her fantastic work. Waters recommended Wright to fight her and not give in.

And rightly so, IMO. Her vocal pretty much makes the song for me. Anyone who can walk into a room and lay that down off the top of their head deserves a co-authorship and more than £30 for the day.

WOW!!! DANG!!!

I haven't been spellbound by a vocal performance in a very long time, but that one blew me away! I hadn't heard of her or that song until just now, but I sure won't forget either one.

Whatever they paid her, I'm sure it wasn't enough!

And Waters could have afforded to bung her a few thousand and not notice. A few hundreds of thousands, even. Not hundreds and thousands, though. That would be weird.

Yes, she gave an outstanding performance considering there was no direction except David Gilmore wrote out the chords. Apparently they did not know what they wanted. What you hear on record was a first take!

She did sue for royalties and was awarded a song writing credit for vocals. Whatever financial compensation she won has been undisclosed, but I hope that she was compensated well.

I don't want to slag on a fellow bassist, but Torry did SO much more to make that song memorable than Roger Waters did.
