I don't want to slag on a fellow bassist, but Torry did SO much more to make that song memorable than Roger Waters did.

Roger Waters Says He's 'Far, Far, Far More Important' Than the Weeknd and Drake

He's had a way bigger influence on my life and the other two guys have none so I basically agree with him from my perspective, but he does tend to make bollocks from words sometimes. I'd love to get him and Pete Townshend in the same room together and wait for something to happen. ​

And rightly so, IMO. Her vocal pretty much makes the song for me. Anyone who can walk into a room and lay that down off the top of their head deserves a co-authorship and more than £30 for the day.

Her vocal is what moves the song. Any future Pink Floyd performance where any other vocalist went somewhere else melodically would leave any audience wondering if it was a different song. She basically trademarked that song.

Every concert video (where PF had 3 b/g female vocalists) of that song that I've seen required all three to cover Clare's solo work.

In the last few years we've seen multiple demonstrations that aging rock stars can make asses of themselves just like us non-stars. And the (unfounded) idea that because so-and-so is a star musician, his opinions somehow carry more weight than Joe Blow's, gives their stupidities wide currency.

I don't get autographs of famous musicians except for a few times and Robbie Steinhardt signed my ticket stub before a concert near where I live. I'm a big Kansas fan and he and Jean-Luc Ponty and their songs were reasons why I took violin lessons.
