One thing he for sure did was break up a fight at a gas station his limo was driving by on the way to the Dane County Coliseum in Madison, WI on what turned out to be his last tour. He saw two guys fighting and had the limo driver pull into the station. He got out and asked the two to stop fighting, and they did. Maybe he didn't give a blind girl $50K, but I think he was capable of such an act of generosity.

That photo looks like it was taken from this concert video of their 2007 show at the Alte Oper (Old Opera) in Frankfurt, Germany. If you're a TD fan and have two hours, this is a great show.
