Cool Trans-Red 79 Precision

Just picked this up. Sick player. Everything is original (including the pots) except for the two pups, an added pot and knobs. Route was professionally done at some point in it's life. Gigging her this eve. Neck is sick. Super straight and action is extremely low. I really dig this trans-red color. I've owned a lot of old Fenders, but never had a 70's trans-red before.

Nice, that color, one of Fender's Jewel colors is actually listed as 'Ruby'. This color ran 79-through the very early 80's. Of course, someone's done some 'work' on this bass. The pickups aren't original, and the Jazz pickup has been added along with the extra knob (they're also non-original).

The bass killed in the mix at last night's gig. Only issue for me was the weight. It was a 5ish hour gig and the weight was getting to me towards the end. She weighs a good 10 or 11 lbs. I prefer basses under 10 lbs these days. Guess I'm getting old. I have another gig tomorrow eve. Still deciding if this one is going with me or one of the others... Again, she was amazing in the mix and the neck is awesome. Action is sooo fricken low. Just a bit heavy for me....
