How did my self portrait get up here?I've always liked this one... I know it's the "Schizoid Man" now, but I always thought it was a doomed citizen in the court of the Crimson King.

That was going to be my answer. I remember the my father taking his record collection out of storage and finding this album. My conservative religious upbringing ended that day.
The painting showed up in our history book in class. Since I had the album, I shouted, hey look!

Reminiscent of the "Deep Purple" album cover, which featured the center section of the right panel of the Bosch triptych "Garden of Earthly Delights"

Their label, Tetragrammaton folded shortly after the album release, the last with the original lineup, and didn't get very wide distribution. I had one for a long time (paid the princely sum of $3.27 at a White Front store in San Diego - it was a lot for a high school student...then...)
