I don’t do social media, other than TalkBass. So, here is a FWIW suggestion that I have started up in our extended family.

White Bows Against COVID-19

Hang a White Bow prominently on your front door to show:

• Solidarity with staff at risk in essential businesses

• Promise to observe appropriate self quarantine in the home

• Promise to observe appropriate social distance practice

Perhaps, a keep or toss concept; but, intended as just some kind of positive action of hope.

I went grocery shopping today, store was running on a skeleton crew but the shelves were mostly stocked, everyone was in a good mood, polite, people took their turns with everything, gave each other space, and;

THEY HAD TOILET PAPER! - I didn't buy any cause I have enough.

I skipped going this morning for the reasons you described, but still needing a few items, I decided to check with Dollar General. They had a handwritten sign up "Seniors only 8:00 - 9:00". I was there at 8:30, so I decided to just wait. There were a few older people and it made sense. One lady pulled up a few minutes later, and paid no mind to the sign. She was in there the whole time until 9 when I walked in. No bread products of any kind, but I did get some aspirin. When I was waiting to check out, that lady that walked in had two grocery carts with all of the bread products - she completely wiped them out for the day.

I found a pack of overpriced and stale hamburger buns at the gas station, but my thought was, hmm...this may become a problem long-term.

Probably be a good idea to limit how much some folks can buy. In some stores around here you can only buy so much of one item and it is enforced. Sad that we have to do this but you can see the need for it.

Here in Italy today the ambulance and helicopters decreased i hope the trend of pandemia is still decreasing

That's the right hope.

I can think of a couple of other possible reasons.

It's Sunday. People have to take a day off sooner or later so it might have come to that.

Ambulance drivers and helicopter pilots are getting it also.

From the last 18:00 local hr bulletin in Italy of today 22 march, in the last 24 hrs from yesterday's 21 march bulletin there is a slight decrease in both the dead (659) and newly infected (3957) vs. the 21 march report (793 and 4821). This is a good sign, just a slight decrement of the curve. Fingers crossed.

You think she might be buying for a rest home? If I was working there I would have told her to leave. Depending on how good of a mood I was in I might have let her buy a couple of loaves after 9 but what's the point of seniors hour if you are going to let that sort of carry on go unchallenged.

She's a 'Fridge Freezer Fecker'! Apparently some people have been buying chest freezers to store food. People never fail to disappoint.

The grocery store I went to today was packed full of non-social distancing folks. Shelves were bare for essentials and staple items. They keep saying the shelves are getting restocked and there's no disruption to the supply chain, but I'm seeing otherwise.
Maybe I'm going at the wrong time.
I drove past a public park on the way to the store. It was packed. People playing basketball, soccer, volleyball, picnicking, and so on.
This past Friday, the governor of our state pleaded, begged, people to stay home and practice social distancing if they have to go out. He said stricter regulations would be enforced if they don't. Judging by what I saw today, I think he'll be done giving residents the benefit of the doubt here soon.

Here's the thing about Covid19/Corona...
(BTW, they changed it to COVID19 because Corona beer threatened to sue the W.H.O....now THAT is funny!))
It will only kill CERTAIN groups of people.
Elderly in Ill health, as the healthy elderly are in no more danger than the regular flu...
which is still a somewhat high risk, as catching the flu while having COPD. etc are deadly.
Then come your Immunocompromised groups...
Transplant patients
HIV/AIDS patients
Sickle-Cell patients
People with active cancers of the immune system like Leukemia
People with viral hepatitis
People with severe burns (Recent only, old healed burns don't count)
Newborns
Other IC's/Etc.

Thusfar all the dead people under 60 have belonged to the immunocompromised group.
All the elderly were in ill health prior to catching COVID19 (hence the rapid multiple deaths in nursing homes)
Stop thinking the sky is falling, its just another FLU strain
Chances that an actual healthy person will die of it are miniscule.

HOWEVER...a healthy person that has caught it can infect a lot of folks quickly.
And the fact that it spreads so easily via airborne and surface methods
means that Grandma with diabetes or undiagnosed cancer is at high risk.
Nobody really wants to kill their Grandma...or anyone else's.
So yeah, we're all going to end up wearing masks in public for awhile.
It's not because it's deadly to the average person, but it is very deadly to those we care about.

Darwinists are loving this disease, as it will bear out survival of the fittest.

If we don't deal with it, it will kill people who are healthy, aside from an injury or some other condition that is unrelated to any virus. Whether it's another flu or not is irrelevant.

When the ICU is full, it will kill people by proxy. If you have a car crash and need to be in the ICU temporarily to survive, you are toast. If you have some other unrelated issue that requires medical help, but it's used up, you are toast. If we don't deal with it, it will kill people who are healthy, aside from an injury or some other condition that is unrelated to any virus. Whether it's another flu or not is irrelevant.

There will be tons of collateral damage from this. People who think the infected will be the only victims are very shortsighted.

Wow. Crazy and sad to hear that about people's actions.
We're home now and folks here are acting generally sane. I went to the local market. Not many people there, everyone was being cool and keeping space. Didn't see any gatherings on the way or back.

Well, our housemate went out to meet a friend to play golf. Promising to practice safe distancing, so not much I can do. My husband does the same; he meets his friend in the park for a walk and they keep a safe distance from each other, so I can only hope that the measures everyone is taking are enough. It feels unfair for me to deprive anyone of a chance to get out and have some sort of normal fun.

Back here at home I made lemonade out of a huge thing of lemons I had and we're enjoying vodka and lemonade, and playing some music together. My husband and I never play music together, but maybe now in the midst of all this we'll come to appreciate each other artistically a little more. It could all be good. He's got jazz chops and I need to learn to walk better, so here we are. Making lemonade from my lemons, in every sense, at least today.

The grocery stores I went to this morning were out of paper products, cleaning supplies and pasta. However, they were loaded with meats, cheese, milk, bread and eggs.

I picked up enough stuff to supply me for another week or so...... we're doing ok here.
