Hey TalkBass!
A couple months ago I did some work on a 2000 Squier P-Bass Special (Standard Series, PJ pickups).
While troubleshooting a problem with the jazz pickup in the bridge (which I now think is the volume pot shorting against the cavity shielding I added), I reflowed the solder in the pickup eyelet and kinda messed it up.
I ended up heating and removing the eyelet in order to remove the solder from it, but lost it in my garage
Surprisingly the pickup is still working fine with the thin pickup wire soldered to the lead, so I added some hot glue to keep it in place and from breaking.
Next time I work on this bass, I'd like to replace the missing eyelet.
Can anyone point me towards the eyelets I need? I found these on eBay which seem like the best deal when you factor in shipping and how many I'd get, but they look a little short compared to the one I removed.
I can get these from Mouser or something too, right? I might need to order another component or 2, so that route might be worthwhile with shipping. I still don't know what eyelets to order though.
I feel like the flatwork of the jazz pickup was plastic (~3mm thick?), and the eyelet might've almost been "riveted" into place, but I'm hoping I can put a replacement in and epoxy it or something.
Thanks!
