Cort B5 element vs StingRay 5 HH

I love the black hardware also. 24 frets is nice. Much better woods. And that roasted maple fingerboard looks killer. I'm usually indifferent with natural finishes, but with that board, the natural looks super nice and classy. And matching headstocks!

By the way, I have read other opinions also from people who liked the Korean made Barts like on this bass more than their American counterparts. And I believe in the previous iteration of these models, they were paired with a Markbass preamp that was considered harsh. It appears Cort listened to those complaints because now it has a Bartolini preamp pairing.

And truth be told, I'd play a vacuum cleaner over that Ray5 just to avoid looking at the ugliest bridge ever created.

Hi, (and sorry I don't know much 'in-depth' about Cort or Bartolini)... Is it your understanding that a current-production Cort B5 Element shipped to and sold in the USA with "Bartolini MK-1 pickups" would be the "Korean Made Barts" you referred to? ...and speaking of USA sales... Does anyone in the US stock a Cort B5 Element?

I'm really just looking for a quality 5 string with 18mm spacing for (hopefully well) under $1kUS, and this Cort B5 Element checks a lot of my boxes. Thank you.

The "MK" pickup moniker stands for "Made in Korea" (MK).

It seems some folks don't love the MK branded Bartolini's. However, I have also read that some people like them and even prefer them to the US version. Listen to a few videos and decide for yourself.

In any event, you can get Cort's on Reverb all day. I'd love a Cort again, especially this one. Checks a lot of boxes for me also and I'm confident the build quality will be excellent.
