Corvette 5 standard...HUM!

Like the title says, I have a Warwick Corvette 5 with a Bartolini active preamp and the stock MEC Jazz pickups. When I roll the treble up all the way, the hum is very loud. Is there something I can do to eliminate this hum without replacing the pickups?

I have already rolled the internal preamp gain dial all the way down...

Is it really hum? Does it have roughly the same pitch as the B two frets up on the A string? I ask because a "hum" that only appears when you roll the treble all the way up is more likely to be white noise hiss from the preamp.

It is white noise hiss. I have never owned an active bass before so this is all new to me. It's not life or death to me, since obviously I keep the treble pretty low to where there is no noise because it just sounds better that way (bass wise, not because of the hiss..). I just didn't think that this was "normal".

My Fender active Jazz has a bit of white noise at full volume and treble, any electronic amplifier does. Whether or not yours is unusual for its make/model is something I cannot tell you. I would not describe mine as "very loud" more like barely audible but yours could be normal for your bass.

Yeah it's very subtle. I don't imagine it being heard in a live situation when turned up...but it was enough to where I wondered about it. Thanks!
