Cory Wong X Dirty Loops collab album (several vids inside)

I'm looking forward to checking out these tunes, because I'd seen/heard the "Thriller" track and kept wondering "who is this Cory Wong guy and why is he getting top billing when he sounds like he's either out of his element/barely hanging on for dear life, or at least trying to stay out of everyone else's way (not that that's a bad thing)?"

I've subsequently learned that Cory's from Vulfpeck so I guess I understand the "top billing" part better, but I'd still like to hear something where he's actually making a substantive contribution to the tune...which admittedly can be hard when you've got a trio of badasses like Dirty Loops plus a whole horn section.

Thanks for posting all the examples.

[edit: Okay, that first tune "Turbo" has redeemed Cory in my eyes. He's definitely in the driver's seat, tearing that sucker up! Great track.]

Cory's great because he's a wonderful rhythm player who occasionally rips it up,. and he can lay back and be pretty subtle when it's called for. All of this makes him a great fit for Vulfpeck. Check out his solo work to see him dominate more--his solo stuff is gaining more attention.

I don't know why Jonah Nilsson has recorded a new track without the regular, Dirty Loops bass player, Henrik Linder, but the bass player on the following track, Tobias Grenholm is superb.

What's more, I found on the Internet a transcription of that bass line, by Neil Newsome.
(I have not verified it)
