We actually do have pretty good Mexican restaurants, just not quite as good as those in California.

I bet Texas and New Mexico have some really good Mexican restaurants.

As far as the OP is concerned....you're a girl...and these were (I assume?) younger guys. You can pretty much rest assured it had something to do with dating or sex. They might've of even just then realized the semester was over and they hadn't worked up the courage to ask you out yet....and had no choice but to stand there stupified....frozen in their own dumbassness.

Blue Agave in Bothell had a reasonably good lengua and a staff who had difficulty understanding my broken Spanish (forget ordering in English, pointing to menu options was easier most of the time) ... was sad to see it shuttered last time I was motoring my way into 'downtown'

I never did go there. Shame I missed out. To think, I'd never even heard of lengua until now. What is it anyway?

I usually go to La Corona in Kirkland since it's right by my house.

I love a meaty burrito too. However, there was this place in the town where I went to college that had these fantastic and huge potato burritos. The potatoes were cut into chunks and fried. You could eat one for several dinners which was great for a student.

I returned there about a month ago and the burritos are much smaller now and the insides were way overcooked. It was pretty nasty. That place sure went downhill over the years.

Now I live in Japan and Mexican food here is pretty much lettuce in a tortilla

The US has some of the best food going. Our pizza is much better than the stuff in Rome, Our "Chinese" food is incredible, and like nothing any real Chinese People would eat. A ten minute ride will bring me to hundreds of restaurants with food from all over the world. Even good old diner food.

Lengua = cow tongue.

Cabritto = goat meat.

I usually get the enchiladas or the very tasty carne guisada, but if they don't have those on the menu, it may as well be Taco Bell.

Cabritto is actually very good. It's one of the biblical "clean meats"...of those, ye should eat.

yeah I miss food. Everything in Japan taste like Japanese food They mutate anything ethnic and turn it into their own flavor. Best pizza here is Costco. Only place you can get pepperoni.

I've heard every country does Chinese different. My friends from Tijuana would always say their Chinese food was better then what we had in San Diego. It would be awesome to travel to different countries and try other countries Chinese food.
