Woops sorry, I meant the passive BB414. It looks like theres a battery cavity on the back. But what do I know?
Oh and I forgot to mention that I will most likely be swapping the p pickup with my Nordtrand np4s regardless of what bass I end up with.

I will not comment on the Yamaha basses as they look great and they are probably fine instruments. I have not played one.

All Squiers are, however, not created equal and the Classic Vibe line is also something that you may want to spend some more time investigating.



I am very happy with my Classic Vibe 60s Precision bass. It really depends on what sound you are after and which bass feels best to you.

Well, I just pulled the trigger on the Yamaha, I found a deal on ebay that was too good too pass it up. $328 with shipping. Pearl black. We'll see how the pickups sound, the p will most likely get the Nordstrands. Just for future reference are there any similar sized jazz pickup replacements? Without a pickguard theres nothing to shield right?
My SX Jazz has some chromes on it already so this baby will get some rounds, probably some pro-steels. Any suggestions for good rounds for some funky, post-punk esque playing?
