Could you help me choosing a new bass?

It seems like the Rick and the MusicMan aren't as versatile as the others. Some of you wouldn't change the G&L and others say that the Fender is more classic and very adaptable...
I've heard in some videos these two basses sounds and Fender is cleaner and lightier than the G&L.

I don't really like the Hofner basses...

I do like them, but just a little part of the guys here told that would take it. That's the why I can't decide, some say that would take it with no doubts, but don't say the why...


Actually, I don't care much about the slap sound, I just want the one with a beaultiful clean and clear sound and also with a heavy, strong sound, that can be clearly heard in the song...
Which is the difference of the timbre of each one?

I think a Musicman bass can fulfill those tonal goals. Check out the Stingray and Sterling of course but the new Big Al seems intriguing.
