The person I was replying to said that the OP wont get the "sound" unless they have a real gibson. Pretty sure we all know that isn't the case.

Maybe the OP can really put that to the test via sound clips.
I’d argue I could hear the difference, but I’m not 100% confident by a long shot so I won’t.
Fretboard doesnt seem to be a great cut of wood, inlays look a bit wonky... im guessing its a real gibson.
Feel free to use google or youtube. There are plenty of videos with shootouts like these and especially after a pickup swap.. you usually cant tell.
It may be a good playing guitar now. It also looks cool. But it's a fake. It would be better to take Gibson and Les Paul off the headstock. Then everybody would at least know that it's a "copy." That would be ok. But the way it is is pure tee "counterfeit." That's wrong in my book.

I vote fake, but I’m on the fence. Those pick nicks look like nitro damage, and that burst looks well done. Looks like there is damage at the neck.
Hard to tell, there is some sort of guitar in front of it, But it looks like a genuine 2004 Lucky Manufacturing and industrial goods Pty Ltd. guitar stand, the 2004 is a sought after model by collectors and those that know.

That’s not a guitar stand. It’s a strap button extension I put on there to counter the neck dive.
I don't really agree with that at all, mainly due to having both a real LP standard and a Chibson LP custom. They're damn near identical, even without swapping the cheap pickups in the Chibson.
Realistically, the sound is just a thick mahogany bodied guitar with humbuckers. It's not overly fancy or hard to replicate even with hundreds of other guitars of various makes and models.
The quality on the other hand obviously won't be the same, but people have gotten lemons from Gibson as well.

Yup. Different guitars sound different.... but preference is still preference and varies by each listener.
I had an Agile LP copy, and we compared it to my friend’s ‘82 Standard, and his LP sounded so different from the Agile.
I had a real ‘72 Custom which sounded like mud.
Gibson uses different pickups in different models. They have solid bodies, weight relief (swiss cheese) bodies, and fully chambered bodies. My friend has 4 different Les Pauls - all have different pickups and one solid, two swiss, and one chambered. They all sound a little different.
I have a USA Hamer Special (double cut) with Gibson pickups (wish it still had the original Dimarzios) and sure, it has that “Les Paul” type of sound.
A copy can sound like the many varieties of real Les Pauls. My Agile didn’t (super bright, with no warmth or low end), but there’s no reason a copy can’t sound like a Les Paul. It doesn’t mean it’s equal to the real thing.

My last trip into our local chain music store had me staring in disgust/disbelief that the $5K Les Paul they had hanging behind the counter had a far worse looking top then this faker. I mean come on, take the 20 seconds it takes to match the two top pieces so it doesn't look like Helen Keller put the thing together!

Based upon the split metal support for the pickguard, I am going to say not a Gibson, but I am no expert.
