I've been rehearsing with a new band doing Folk Rock/Americana style cover tunes (at least that is the way we interpret them) with a few originals sprinkled in. The list is all over the place. We debut next Tuesday and then have two more gigs in the 10 days following that. We started out as a trio and have since started working in a drummer but the initial gig we are still doing as a trio. This is the most vocally focused group I have been a part of and because of that I can probably count on one hand the number of these tunes we are doing in the original key, which made the individual practice/song learning a bear until we recorded scratch tracks at rehearsal.

Thread resurrection.


Posting the latest setlist for my cover trio. We tend to play for a diverse crowd of all ages so we've included songs from the 50s to the present day, taken from rock, pop, country, blues, funk, and other genres. All three of us sing lead and backing.

We'll be performing these songs on 3/17 (St Patrick's Day) in a nearby bar, and again on 4/8 at the local VFW. We also have about two dozen alternate songs we can substitute in for future gigs and we're working on adding more because we want to maintain some variety.

For these two gigs, we'll be performing four sets of about 45 - 50 minutes each. There are a total of 52 songs.

Constructive criticism is welcome.

set list for saturday's gig at a local bar/restaurant where we play every other month. lots of medleys and mashups of cover tunes and we always do originals (the number of which depends on who is in the lineup). it's an instrumental band (drums, bass, keys, guitar, tenor/bari, alto/soprano, trumpet/flugel) so the only vocal mic is used for announcements.
